My
father was farming his rice field with a machine
when he heard a loud noise. He stopped and looked
to see what it was and he found a broken piece of
pottery.
I
think that it is a piece of Yayoi-doki
(pottery from the Yayoi period of Japanese history)
because his rice field stands near the place of an
archaeological dig.
It
is an interesting object, so I want to introduce it
to you. The object is a 5 by 7-centimeter piece of
pottery. It is gray and has a smooth surface.
If
you hit it with your finger, you will hear a clear
sound. By studying artifacts like these, we can
learn about life in the Yayoi period of history in
Japan.
