Porto
Seguro is a city in Bahia state, Brazil, where the
first Portuguese discoverers arrived almost 500
years ago. That's why it is called Porto Seguro,
which means safe port.
So
the city is an important tourist point in Brazil,
which had, besides history and old churches from
the colonization times, beautiful beaches and a
really friendly population.
Even
though Porto Seguro is a very old city, it is not a
big urban one. It remains simple, but with a lot of
things to do. There are bars, restaurants, stores
with typical products and souvenirs, all with the
special look that only Bahia can have!
Even
the airport has this particular way; it definitely
doesn't look like one. So everything is nice, and
the people seem to be always celebrating something.
There is fun in every corner.
Some
beaches are full of bars and people, but some
others, which are barely touched by civilization,
are almost deserts and really difficult to reach by
car; but if you don't mind walking, you can get to
know them, and they are sure worth it. The nature
is amazing.
It
is a trip for all the family, but the young people
are the larger part of the tourists. I went there 3
years ago with my two best friends, who are Flavia
and Sandra. We could meet people and make friends,
and we found every place full of great music, great
food, and most important, joy!
Whenever
I get the chance, I will go back to Porto Seguro
because it is an incredible place where you can
have lots of fun and relax. Porto Seguro has the
charm to make you forget everything
else.
