Two Special Photos in My Pocket

Francisco Vanegas from Colombia

Francisco Vanega

I have some things in my pocket which are important to me. There is a two-dollar bill that my father gave me ten years ago. At the moment he gave it to me, he said, "This is for your good luck!" I also have two photos--one of my father and one of my wife--because these pictures bring me good luck. T

he picture of my father is when he was young. He was eighteen years old , and he was in the naval marine. He had a lot of energy then, and he is still very active. The photo of my wife was taken ten years ago. I like it because it is from the time when I met her.

Both pictures are important to me. Sometimes when I am alone or when I am traveling, I look at them and think of these two people. I love them because they have beautiful energy and are always optimistic. My father is the center of the family, and he gets along well with my wife. These two people, along with my mother and my sister, are the most important persons in my life. The photos remind me of that.
