It's
Better to Pay Than Jump
Eugene
Kraev from Russia
When
I was in Australia, I met someone who was from
Russia like me. His name was Oleg. He had lived
there for a year, so he knew more about that city
than I did. One time, Oleg invited me to play pool
with him and I said, "Why not?"
We
played a good game and had an excellent time
together. Then when we had to pay for the last
game, I saw that I had run out of money. I should
have known that I was running out of money, but I
didn't. When I told Alex that I didn't have enough
money, he said he didn't either.
We
didn't have enough money to pay and didn't know
what to do. It was a crazy thing to do, but we
decided not to pay. We went to the restroom and
jumped out a window. I shouldn't have done that
because the window was very high. Nothing happened
to Oleg, but unfortunately I sprained my leg when I
jumped.
I
also regretted deciding not to pay. I should have
explained our situation to the people there. Then
maybe I could have paid for the game later. It
would have been cheaper than paying a hospital
bill!
