Here is my recipe for Bola Bola. You can find these anywhere in the world, but the name is different. They are called meat balls in English. This dish is very popular in the Philippines. My husband loves to eat it.

Ingredients: (for 6 people)

  • 500 grams minced beef
  • 1 capsicum (a red pepper)
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons spring onion—sliced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce—light
  • 1/3 cup plain flour
  • ground black pepper and salt to taste
  • tomato ketchup

  1. Mix all the ingredients except for the flour into a large bowl.
  2. Take some of the mixed ingredients and roll it with flour and form balls.
  3. Heat some oil in a frying pan.
  4. Fry until they becomes golden brown.
  5. Serve them with tomato ketchup and rice.

Tip for Preparing

You can make big or small meat balls—any size you want. The tomato ketchup is used only for dipping the Bola Bola, so the amount you use depends.
