for Tasty Silig

In
Saudi Arabia people love to eat silig
because it tastes so good. It is a very popular
dish which is often served. Silig is made of
rice, milk, chicken, and spices. Try it! You will
love it!

Ingredients
- one
whole chicken
- wo
cups of Egyptian rice
- two
cups of milk
(You can add more, if needed.)
- two
small pieces of "Mistake", if
available
- wo
spoons of butter
- unground
spices: sticks of cinnamon, cardamom, black
pepper, and cloves
Cooking
Steps
- First,
clean the chicken and put it in a good-sized
cooking pan with water covering the chicken.
- Next,
add the unground spices and salt.
- When
the chicken is done, remove it and put it in the
oven to roast. Or, you can fry it. (This is
optional.)
- Then
wash the rice with water and add it to the
chicken.
- When
it is halfway cooked, add the milk and mix them.
Make sure the heat is down so it does not burn.
- Mix
it from time to time, and add more milk if
needed.
- If
"mistaka" is available, fry it in a saucepan
with the butter and add it to the rice.
- Finally,
put the rice on a service plate, cut the chicken
into pieces, and put the pieces on top of the
rice.
