Among
the most expected holiday by children's is theThree
Kings Day. This celebration takes place on January
6.
On
the eve of that day, children put their shoes under
the Christmas tree.
Then
the children go to sleep and the next morning when
they wake up, there are presents for them, mostly
toys and clothes.
On
this day the children, parents and friends get
together in the evening and have a cup of hot
chocolate with a rosca de reyes (Three
King's Bread). This
is a typical bread that contains tiny pieces of
fruit (orange skin, membrillo, cherries, sugar) on
top and tiny baby toys inside which symbolize the
Baby Jesus.
This
holiday has a religious background; however, it is
considered as a national holiday.
