Pansit Canton
(Fried Noodles)

Rose Owen
from the Philippines

This is a noodle dish that is popular in the Philippines. It can be eaten at any time--in the morning, afternoon, for dinner, and even as a snack.

These noodles are Chinese noodles with rice and chicken.

Ingredients needed to prepare the dish:

  • 1/4 kilo of meat, any kind
  • 1 stick of celery
  • 1 onion
  • 1/4 of a cabbage
  • 1/4 kilo of beans
  • 3 tablespoons of oil
  • 3 pieces of garlic
  • soy sauce and salt to brown the noodles

Method of preparing and cooking it:

  1. Put the oil in the saucepan. Heat it for a while until hot.
  2. Put in pieces of garlic and onion.
  3. Cook until brown.
  4. Put the meat in the pan and let it fry until it becomes golden.
  5. Then put in the rest of the ingredients--all the vegetables.
  6. Leave it for a few minutes.
  7. Put in the white noodles with soy sauce to taste or sprinkle a little bit of salt and wait until it is cooked.
  8. Serve the fried noodles on a platter.

No special tips, just enjoy them!

Try it. If you like noodles, you will like it.
