Issue:
Influence of English on Other Languages
"The influence of English on other languages is pervasive. Some people fear this is detrimental to their own languages and want the spread of English to be curbed."
Self-flagellation is nice, but you should realize that English is not the biggest threat to the world's languages, quite the opposite. Something like 97% of the world's languages have fewer than 1 million speakers. These languages are disappearing not because of English, but regional languages like Spanish and Russian. English (or another international auxiliary like Esperanto) would enable them to keep their native language while being able to communicate with the rest of the world.
